"Exodus, part 2" - A commentary in screencaps.

Oct 22, 2006 23:48

Sometimes I'll get in these moods where I just HAVE to get or do something RIGHT NOW. Torchwood tonight, for example. Sure, I want to see it, but I'm more obsessed with getting it than actually watching it. I've been completely manic for the past hour and a half, and now I'm in "crash and burn" mode. Sigh. (But a huge thank-you to everyone who ( Read more... )

Ooh, meta + screencaps = always good!

Oh, Sam. Sam. I love that, despite all the chaos, he has to stop and kiss the wife he'd (understandably) given up for dead
I *loved* that moment. I don't even ship them that much, but he just missed her so much and was so worried and then he finds her! Awwwww!

could we maybe find a standard way to number the episodes?
Seriously! This is episode 4! Accept it, people! :)

Oh, yes! Since the season started, I've developed a huge crush on Anders. So glad that he's finally getting a story of his own -- though I also adore him with Kara. :)

It would be really funny if episode numbering was a major cause of fandom factionalization. *g* The podcast is labeled 3.04, and coming from Sci-Fi, that's official enough for me.

The Kara/Leoben kiss scene is hard to watch, in a very different way than some of the more violent scenes on the show have been (Sharon's near-rape, for example). I turned away when it happened but was surprised that I did - I certainly don't object to Kara/Leoben on conceptual or hotness levels. Well, maybe there was more of an objection after he knocked her out earlier in the ep.

I really, really want a Kara/Tigh drinking and bonding over how much New Caprica sucked scene.

It's funny how RDM et al are apparently insisting that the premiere is "3.01", even though nearly all the fans I've seen are counting it otherwise. ;)

Y'know, I didn't find the Kara/Leoben kiss all that "hot", perhaps because of the emotional violence you mention above. Another way that the scene is SO excellently played by both actors.

Oh noes! You missed my FAVOURITE cap of the episode (out of the ones you didn't post.. because some of the rest, like Broken Kara and Gaeta and Tory!Ash are all beauteous).

It hurts deep deep inside. The look on Tigh's face, and Adama turning back at him and his moment of glory being internally shattered for him.

ssiiigghhh.

Ooh, I hadn't noticed that the first time, but it really is a gorgeous (and sad) shot.

This was brilliant. Thanks. ;) I couldn't agree with you more on like 99% of your points... (I'm sorry -- I had to cover my eyes for both the Dee/Lee kiss and especially the Kara/Leoban kiss -- I was grossed out beyond reason!) I was especially impressed with Galactica's jump and then release of fighters and then jump again. TOTALLY awesome... and yet, I usually skip over the battle scenes in my head too... to wait for more character driven stuff.. ;)

But one thing I have seen left out of lots of people's recaps was not only how lost and devastated Kara and Tigh are on the hanger bay... but Tigh walks right by Gaeta. To me, him being all alone... really poignant after what he went through with Baltar.

Y'know, I hadn't even noticed the Gaeta thing, but then I was wholly focused on Kara in that scene. :) Thanks for pointing that out!

I've been calling "Exodus II" 3.04 because that's how the two-parters always worked on BSG, right? The first hour was episode one and the second hour is episode two. That makes sense to me ( ... )

Unlike other fandoms, I've never been an exclusive 'shipper when it comes to Kara and Lee together. I'm far more interested in all the other parts of their dynamic, unrelated to the "romance". I do think that, whatever happens in the future, Sam and Dee are exactly what they needed right now -- which makes perfect sense to me.

I do like to think that Kara and Tigh will maintain their strange new friendship. RDM's pretty good at remembering characterization themes like that. (Knock on wood.)
