Y'know, I was keeping an open mind about S5 of Alias. Really. Sure, the odds are... uh... stacked against it, but hey. Pollyalanna here. Then I saw the new print ad of Jen/Sydney with her hand over her belly. Oh, dear. Ohhhhhh, dear. I'll watch long enough to find out who the hell Michael Vaughn really is, and then it's anyone's game.

Not that I'll begrudge Laurie, because I loves me some House and he does pretty much single-handedly power the entire show (which for all his magnificence, McShane does not, he's got stellar supporting work on all sides.) BUT McShane's work is, well...unspeakably wonderful and impossible to look away from in all its delicate complexity.
At least he got nominated this year, right? :)

Regarding our lists: I almost chose "Deadwood" for best drama, too. I'm obessesed with Lost, but I have to admit that "Deadwood" has much higher quality in writing, art production and especially acting. It was a tough choice for me:)

That is exactly what i've been thinking today. It's been on the bubble for, like, it's entire run, and we've actually scraped by enough to make it to season THREE! I now believe in miracles.
Quite enjoyed the first episode of House, but omigod, could TV writers everywhere pretty please retire the "ending montage featuring soulful, angsty music" cliche forever?
No no, i think it's actually a requirement! Part of their contracts. "Use Jeff Buckley's 'Hallelujah' for heartfelt montage at least once." It's gotten to the point where i just roll my eyes when it happens anymore. You'd think they'd notice how overdone it is.

I dunno; I couldn't get past the part where I looked at the dress and started thinking about how amazingly snuggly it looked, and what a nice color, and how much I'd like something like that, only with long sleeves...
