So the kitchen here has some cabinets with slotted grooves in them, so that you can insert more shelves. We need more shelves, so I cut down some plywood to put in 'em

Lighter fluid or kerosene is the best thing for your hands and brushes. Not sure what to say for your watch band-- it depends on what it's made of.

Goof Off, dabbed with care (the band is rubber), worked great. It's my biking and housework watch, so it's not a glamorous thing, but I wear it on business calls as well so it had to be at least paint-free.
