I came across a project that's been going on for a few months over at one of the computer graphics sites I visit from time to time. CGTalk's forums have had an ongoing art challenge to redo Star Wars imagry with a Steampunk Theme. They're not all great, but since I'm a sucker for steampunk visuals I got a kick out of it.

Bent, folded, spindled
This last weekend marked my return to martial arts after a 2 year hiatus. Sure I'd practiced on my own, but there's only so far you can go with that. So everyone's favorite movie is coming out with a new DVD version this August and Alex Ross has done the cover. I think that'll be an excellent time to add Flash Gordon: Savior of the Universe Edition to my collection.

Apparently they can't take the sky from us...
So, according to a press release from last Friday morning, they're planning on turning firefly into a MMO. I had a look around the company's site and the graphics look a little basic and generic for their existing sites, but hopefully they'll get a decent design team and give us a chance to play around in the 'Verse.
