OMG, this was great! I love the use of Dawn's keyness to close the rift. How did I never think of that as a way out of the AtS ending? It seems so obvious now.
Anyway.
I also loved the Connor POV and his struggle to reconcile his Quor'toth memories with the memories on the other side of the spell. That's one of the things I find most interesting about his character and you pegged it.
So glad you like it. I was honestly very worried about it - I have no idea I went with doing basically an enitre fic of action when I have always felt that is my weakest place. Maybe my brain was subconciously trying to get me to practice at it. *snort*
Also, like you I find Connor most interesting at the end of the series when he has both sets of memories and has to reconcile the dispirate parts of himself - but somehow ends up accepting. Much more interesting then when he is simply just the super-angst killing machine.
