Nice - you managed to avoid all of the pitfalls of this type of story, I think.

It does start to threaten suspension of disbelief, having characters interact with fandom. :) Glad it worked for you!

A convention, wonderfully creative of you, Author!! All the levels of reality, my head she is breaking. I in particular loved the brief call to arms upon seeing not-Loki and Thor's gripping of his hammer in its zip tie; is this standard at conventions for the 'guardians of the gate' to do this?

Thank you for this wonderful shiny thing - it's a grand way to wake up.

Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed my take on it! I had a lot of difficulty figuring out where and when to set the story - and then I attended a ComicCon a few weeks ago, and it seemed like the perfect place to fit in your requests. :)

Con staff do in fact frequently somehow identify or 'secure' costume weapons in some way to signify that they're not real ones; just as a common sense precaution. Not sure they'd actually do a hammer, but I've seen them do it with swords and other melee weapons, so I thought it might not be too much a stretch. And a few years ago I was super entertained watching a whole line of imitation Ghostbusters getting their proton packs checked - it's just something everyone expects when cosplaying to that degree. :)

*snerk* It makes one go in for simple bodypaint as costume - how could anyone anyone check that? :)
