That really works well - and if you ever follow up on this, I would love to see Finch's reaction to Jarvis being an AI, in the light of what they've said about AIs in the current series.

Heh, yeah; I thought about working that in somehow. But there just wasn't room for a digression that big from the main plot in the space of a shortfic. *making headcanon notes for this 'verse*

Oh, I really enjoyed this. Heh, Jarvis. I'm just really amused by what Finch and Reese think of him/it. Passing the Turing test right there...

Glad you liked the story!

I couldn't resist including JARVIS. I don't think Reese would be too thrown by finding out the truth, after the pragmatic way he's interacted with the Machine in canon; he often treats it as an entity with a will of its own as it is.

Finch, on the other hand .... I'm really torn about how he'd react, given everything we've been shown about his reasons to be so wary of even his own creation. Maybe sometime I'll have to work that part out in fic, too. :)
