The Machine might be less boggled by magic than they are - it obviously knows more about what's going on. Root's reaction might be interesting...

Well, the Machine does 'see everything', and was trained to base its predictions off what it sees. And since unlike magic in the Dresden universe, magic in the SA 'verse doesn't fuzz out technology just by its presence ... yeah, this could get interesting. :)

Loved what you did with the prompt. John's observations of Balthazar's history was very amusing. The hints you gave about the case were interesting. Especially Horvath's surprise entrance. Of course the next big question was how much does the Machine know about magic.

Glad you enjoyed the story! It was fun to write.

I assume what the Machine knows about magic can be summed up in what it's seen happen on camera over the years, to draw conclusions from, and maybe whatever might have been posted by incautious young folk (of the Drake Stone generation) on the Internet. So, not exhaustive, but enough to make some basic predictions from, I should think ... much to Finch's surprise. :)

You're welcome!

(One of these days, I'll have to continue this 'verse; I just haven't had the inspiration yet.)
