there is a six inch lizard that somehow made his way into my bathtub and can't figure out how to get out. i left him alone for a few hours, hoping he would just leave however he came in (and that he wouldn't leave eggs in my toothpaste), but he's still there and now, at 3:30 in the morning i'm going to try to figure out a way to get him outside. i'm trying to go to new york in a few weeks. plane tickets are dirt cheap. hotels aren't. can anyone recommend any good neighborhoods or hotels??

after months of searching, i finally have a new place to call home. it's not a 1-bedroom like i said i would demand, and it only has street parking, which i never thought i would do again, but it's a lovely, weird little place with a nice view and saltillo tiles.

after reading this story about ann the raven, a local blues DJ, i was intrigued and decided to tune in to her radio show. she's out, hosting a festival tonight, but this show has THE MOST AMAZING MUSIC. i thought KKJZ was the only place to hear the blues on the radio. thank god for ann the raven.
