I'm doing better than Michelle. Michelle has a renewed (and justified) hatred of her job at the hospital. She wants to quit and go back to school and get a job doing photography, which is her dream. We're trying to work it out so that she can.

I miss the academic atmosphere at Oxford (and everything else at Oxford), but nevertheless appreciate the worry-free safety and familiarity of home and steady incomes. I'm trying to get a second job because of the debt we accrued in Europe. And I like the free time I have after work to read. I had no freetime at Oxford. Every waking moment was devoted to my studies.

i'm glad for you two to be surrounded, again, by the comforts of home, and i hope your time of adjusting back and shifting your lives nearer to your hopes happens! i spend a good deal of time in hospitals iwth my job now and i can see how it could be a less-than-desirable work environment. what a necessary balance photography must be for her. hope summer is greeting you well!

I just ate fennel for the first time 2 weeks ago. Do you have any good recipes?

By the way, I tagged you . . . see my journal for details.
