Augh, I didn't even think that Hotch might be taking a leave or leaving the show altogether! D: I haven't heard anything like that, though I don't know if I'd really consider myself to be in the loop about the show or anything. Now I'm all worried. *frets*
Because... how could he continue doing that job after having that happen? But then again, maybe it's how could he stop? Maybe he'll throw himself into it harder than ever, to try to prevent similar tragedies

(I love rambly comments! I often leave them myself :) )
I wonder if Hotch is going to alter his job a bit where he doesn't travel as much, and is more in the office. I can't imagine him leaving the show entirely either, but now I'm thinking of the supposed spin off. With previous episodes, I was thinking Morgan would get his own team because he was ready for leadership and Hotch would take the team again. Now, I'm not so sure.
That entire scene with Hotch and Haley had me covering my face and laid out on my bed. (Sometimes I get dramatic when I'm watching tv) When she told him he had to show their son love, I almost lost it. And, wow, I didn't fully expect Hotch to literally lose it like that and kick the shit out of Foyette--and a part of me was cheering him on, but then I realized I was watching Criminal Minds and not L&O:SVU and to see Hotch act that way showed how broken he was--
I don't think Hotch is full on leaving the show, but I'm just really optimistic and I would miss him.
Flatline noise or not, they could have revived him. I admit this is me being a TOTAL DB fangirl, but absent a funeral for Kassmeyer, Sam's too big a hero to be dead

The entire phone scene with Haley and Hotch just near made me sob.
I was asking about D.B. Sweeney because I thought only two people were dying, so I figured Haley and Foyet were the deaths but I could be wrong.
Hotch losing it was understandable but scary to see; they've been leading up to it for a while, and there's been hints from the beginning of the show but I never thought he would physically beat him to death.
But I was in full on tears when my man the big damned hero was getting tortured and not telling that bastard one thing. Is it wrong to scream from the rooftops, "I want an Emmy nomination for DB for this?"
There is nothing wrong with that. This entire episode needs to be submitted for awards.
Morgan getting his own team still seems viable to me, and I think his character is strong enough to draw an audience while they're still introducing the new characters. I thought that was where this whole thing was leading. I guess I'll just have to wait until the show comes back.
