1. Part of a quiz on religion, from a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center (cofax7, I think you mentioned this recently?). I'm...not really sure what to make even of the questions they asked.

2. I have watched Hawaii 5-0 based upon some of your reactions. My reaction mostly consists of "I want a little blond snarky man around too." I think this ( Read more... )

Take a look at their results breakdowns, if you haven't already--it looks like atheists/agnostics generally did fairly well in answering. (I got 14 out of 15 and really should have remembered what day the Jewish sabbath is.)

Some of the questions seemed really pretty random, and some seemed either too easy or relatively obscure. (Is the Great Awakening taught generally? I didn't really take American history till, uh, my senior year of college.)

I don't really know what this is supposed to prove, I guess.

Yeah. I didn't notice if it stated what the purpose of the survey was--I'm assuming the pages do somewhere--but cumulatively the questions don't lead me to understand what the point of it was, or what kind of sampling they used.

This atheist got 14 out of 15. Whoot. I forgot the Sabbath thing. In my family, we never paid much attention to it, in my defense.

September is just an awful month, innit it? Nothing goes right in that month.

November is usually the month that comes crashing down around me; I don't remember any previous September being quite so horribly stupid and wretched as this one has been. ONE MORE DAY. Christ I hope I don't run over a small animal tomorrow or something.
