Am back in my own space again, with my own laptop and high-speed internet, and I think I shall hug it and pet it and call it George for a while. I spent more time than I care to think updating my parents' computers, and I didn't get to finish, and I didn't get to install dad's shiny new printer that mom got him for Christmas because it would take ( Read more... )

Having been in the land of dail-up for most of the past 14 years I feel your pain. And their's.

I hope the return to work goes well. And yes to what you said about varied perspectives. It may be a good thing though because it gives the ability to feel what it was like to be all our other ages. Er...if that makes sense. ;)

The thing to hold me back in the past has always been "no space, you'll be moving again, you don't need the extra stuff!" So this was rather grossly unfair of my parents. :p

I saw the Sherlock movie too--I was pleasantly surprised at how much Holmes-y neurosis and "deduction" was in there, after seeing the trailers paint it as ALL ACTION ALL THE TIEM. Good enough for the ticket price, anyway!

I haven't seen many trailers, just the billboards, so there was in fact more action than I expected. But I really did enjoy the trio with Irene Adler working together.
