A question for those here. If this place no longer had the experiments and there was a choice between staying here, going back to your world, or even going to the world of another person here, what would you choose ( Read more... )

Isn't it just because you're weak?

Not everyone is suited to the actual fighting. I developed weapons and strategy for battles actually. That doesn't mean I enjoyed the idea that people died because of my tactics and weapons.

So, basically, you make other people do the fighting for you?

In your world, do the commanders typically fight on the front lines then? It would seem a bad idea to risk the life of those in charge because the army would fall apart.

I guess the word commander means different things between worlds, then.

If you came from my world, you wouldn't be much of a commander.

I gather then your world does not have a seperate person who makes the strategy for all the armies? That was my actual position, just above the generals, but below the Emperor.

Having someone who doesn't fight do all the strategy-making is just a waste of tax money. I bet Chief Ayanami does all the strategy-making, and he's always on the front-lines.

That does appear to be a difference between the worlds. In mine we found that if something happens to the commander, the morale drops very fast, so it is best to try and avoid that.

It worked well enough, we did conquer numerous kingdoms with the strategy I provided.

No. I don't think it's just a difference between worlds. It's a difference between people. Because nothing will ever happen to Chief Ayanami.

But I guess that's not too bad. At least you know where to send the troops.

That is quite possible. There may well be differences in combat style too. How large was the army you served in and what sort of weapons were used?

It was pretty big, I guess. There were a lot of flying ships and everyone was a Zaiphon user. But I didn't really pay much attention to the rest of them.

I have to say, it would be interesting to find out how a large army could have its commanders on the front lines and not end up in danger somehow. Quite admirable.

I don't really care for things like that. I don't know about the regular army, but as long as we get our job done, the council members can't complain.

A few of my subordinates felt the same. They enjoyed the battles and wanted to fight. For me, my arm makes me awkward at best in a fight, but I do well at negotiating with leaders for surrender and coming up with the tactics that will lead us to that point.

So you're the the kind of person that likes to talk. Did you try talking to the dragon too? Before it chewed on your arm?
