hm.. First of all, if nothing else I appericate art and using different mediums to relay a vison so being having the train of thought to even create something on wood is honorable in itself. On to the art, its kinda hard to see the brush strokes and how it would play against the grain since the scan isnt as clear as youd like it to be ( ... )

I tend to think of nudity in art like the old masters & expressionists did. Nudity is a great way to express emotion or another idea without the idea about class clouding our judgement. Because she isn't clothed, we have no preconceived notions or judgements about this person. Whether we like it or not, we make judgements about how someone is dressed subconsciously (or consciously).

I tend to work in bright colors, for a sense of irony in paintings and drawings with a dark subject matter.

Im still working on something I want to submit here, I've been thinking more about the type of platforms I could apply my art on. Im leaning towards working on a piece outdoors, I mean theres tons of things I could find to create something new.
Once I get over this artist block that is, I really want to put together a comic but I cant seem to stay on track to get more than the first page filled and inked.
Your style seems more classic tho, something you dont see to often. Most people poor all there skills into photoshop which is good n all but Id much rather work with my hands. Im lookin for a good place to work with some oil clays ( i like oil clays because they hold together better) If I can find a place with a working stove. Infact the first time I ever worked with clay I didnt hollow it out and when I slid it in the stove it exploded.
Hmmm yea I'm going to have to keep a eye out for a place like that in baltimore.

Is this the big one??

I like the title, it definitely works the joker-esque smile, and the way that while th picture seems innocent enough something is "off" with her.

Lol, and the fact that you can't necessarily see what she's holding, or if she's holding anything adds to it.

It makes me wonder if she has too many big teeth XDD

It's full of depth, this looks like it was fun to paint. ^_^

No this isn't the big one. This one is actually about 6x8 inches (I figured I'd start out small to experiment).

Wait, is she from Right Calgary? I think she'll be a reoccurring "character."

She was very fun to paint. I'm really enjoying working on the hard surface of the wood, and working the paint into the grain.

Hi wishcandy, just stumbled over your LJ via Jess Frink's page, I'm impressed. I like the light touch of this piece, I'll keep my eye out for more.

Keep up the good work!

You see, art doesn't really work that way. I don't produce things just so other people will have something to talk about. When i'm done with another piece, and ready to share it'll be posted. Thanks.
