Zero-One (lol, get it?) is likely my favorite of the series, but the removal of SEMI-REALISTIC EXPRESSWAY TRAFFIC and replacing it with oodles upon oodles of Genki vans kind of killed the immersion factor somewhat. At least you can switch between cities, the controls are great, and the graphics are FAR better than Zero (though arguably still not as good as Two on the Dreamcast).
There's also a Shutokou Battle X for the Japanese 360, though I don't know anyone who's played it. It probably rocks. Shit, the only Shutokou Battle game that isn't at all cool is the original for the PS1 AFAIK.
Hehehe, nice :) Yeah, the "Official" vans pissed me off a bit, but the improving of the graphics, and the added cars and expressways to choose from made up for it. I've only played the first one on the Dreamcast but i loved it. The 360 one looks pretty sweet, as does "Midnight Highway Battle" (or something like that) for the PS3, but i can't justify dishing out the cash for just one game. I've never played the original one for the PS1, but i HAVE played the even older one for the Super Famicom, and that one really sucked badly :(
I have SB1 and 2 for the DC, have played Zero (American version) at Jaime's place back when I was an undergrad (before I met you! :O) and got Zero-One upon release in Japan. I haven't played the PS1 or Saturn SBs, and definitely not the SFC one (o.O)
Damn, there was a Shutokou Battle for SFC? That's old school. New one for PS3 eh... I'm totally getting that thing when the full version of GT5 comes out!
Back when I was in middle school I was playing Super Monaco GP at my uncle's house. He said, "You know, it's harder to drive like that in a video game because your field of vision is limited and you can't feel how fast you're going." I didn't believe him, but it turns out he was right.
It was much easier to pilot the !BATSU!Mobile through the curves of Omote Rokko Driveway IRL than it was in Kaido Battle (another Genki racing game you should check out). I could even go faster than I could in the game!
Thanks d00d, it never crossed my mind ;) Btw, V2?? They actually made a sequel to V??? Damn, that'll be a hard song! Are they doing the testing at the same arcade in Ikebukuro again? Haven't been to a location test since Gold at TGS 2007 and there were so many people there i didn't even get to play dammit (>_<)
1/ Hope you are ok! 2/ You goin to gunma to see kalani and yukes? 3/ Ive got a new (original ed) blue psp with OS 4.0. Can you help me mod it please as my original broke! 4/ Brandi split up with her latest BF and is feeling very very down. Why not post a comment or email your support for her? She just banned me! (but that's another story).
