Carbs are great! Amidst all these nonsense low-carb and no-carb diets (which, btw, are very bad for you), carb fiends like myself (and possibly yourself) may find themselves discouraged. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and that light is called cardiovascular exercise.
I've accepted that I won't stop stuffing my face with carbohydrates. Ever. However, if you take up an endurance sport/activity, those carbs and eating a boatload of them become good things!
The problem comes when you stop exercising and don't change your eating habits... which is catching up with me now.
Cool, thanks! Carbs rock, so i really don't wanna stop eating them. I've got terrible stamina in endurance sports, so i guess that's 2 reasons to start training in them. Jogging blows, so it'll be cycling for me too! I'm not however forking over the value(or more?) of the !BATSU! mobile for a road bike. The Mama-chali probably offers a better workout-per-mile ratio anyways :-P
It's all good mang... you don't need a bike from the Tour de France if you're just looking to lose weight. It's nice, but not necessary. I started out and lost plenty of weight on a mama-chari that'd been hit by two cars. The two problems with a mama-chari are 1. they're terribly uncomfortable over long distances and 2. you have to deal with the frustration of watching dudes on MTBs and roadies cruise effortlessly past you while you're cranking out 110 rpm but only going 15 km/h.
I too wish to know how the ol' 180 is holding up! She looks all weird with that Tochigi plate on there.
