I had a nightmare a couple of days ago that the written word was literally disappearing all across the world while I watched. Yeah. This was simultaneously super-creepy and so unbelievably geeky that I could not figure out how to tell anybody about this dream and still convey how terrifying it actually was.
I probably shouldn't have mentioned this here, though. Bug will have a field day with my psyche on that one. (*grin*)

No, really, that's a pretty bad nightmare because it's not entirely improbable. With history's accounts of missing libraries, burning books, and banning knowledge. Add that to the generations getting stupider and stupider while technology and l337 speak rule.
Ew, books on tape. Ever since I could read myself, I've found being made to sit and hear someone else's voice droning on is like an exquisite punishment...if I'm going to hear the idiotcy that is some writing, I want my own mitigating smug voice in between.

lol I love you. It's the same way with me, but to this day both my mom and bro will ask me to read them things. Also used to read and recount fics to Amy over the phone. I still don't know WTF makes my voice so tolerable.
