Samurai Champloo is really darn good. Really darn good. And there's no obsessive love story. A few het relations happen briefly throughout, but it's nothing obvious and doesn't take up much screen time. And Fuu might crush on one of the two guys - although whether it's platonic or more is never really dealt with, & even which guy she might possibly like, which is pretty good like that. So yeah, fairly general relationships throughout the whole show. If you want to read more into them, you can, but it's not in your face.
Jiiiiiiin. I just downloaded ghey pr0nz for this. I work fast.
It is really good. I like the "mashup" aspect, the fighting (which usually bores me in animation) had my jaw dropping, and i actually don't find the chick annoying. Well, too annoying. Needs to STFU about the sunflower dude and the "promise". I just don't know why it took a slight step down from epic after the first ep.
Seriously? No romance? None of the guys fighting over her, or her angsting over which guy to go for? *sobs* So happy.
Jin WINS, OWNS, PWNS, RULZ, and other such related matters. If for nothing else, watch it for him. And Mugen is pretty cool too. But seriously. JIN <3 <3
And yeah, the fighting is damn good in this anime. Shame there's not more of it. And Fuu is suprisingly easy to watch, probably because of the lack of trying to be every boy's girlfriend. Not much romance (there is some, briefly, with other characters they meet, but it's nothing too bad or anything, and with Jin really quite sweet and almost heart breaking). But yeah, the guys don't fight over her, and she doesn't spend episodes agnsting over which one she loves more, or anything like that. :D
lol Mommy got me into a bad habit of clicking any thumbnail containing a dark-haired man with glasses, so i found the show thru Jin. Much, much love. But i do love Mugen's fighting style more because it looks like breakdancing and i light up with childish delight.
Fuck. Sweet and heartbreaking? I'll never find a perfect show. Vaginas, displease, etc etc.
