-Ukitake had heard of the library in passing from the conversations of other residents and decided, after a day of planting new flowers, he'd check it out. A good book always helps pass the time, after all.

It is then he stumbles across our professor there. He, of course, has not met her, but gives her a slight nudge to the shoulder none the less-

Excuse me...miss? Are you alright?

[Well, that startles her a bit, though she blinks a little and attempts to compose herself fairly quickly]

-There's a chuckle from the ancient captain as he takes a seat across from her, setting his selections down- Late night studying? Not really good for the memory, I'm afraid.

He's not good enough to get that and you know it. Want me to pass on the message?

... No, that won't be necessary, Bass.

[Don't mind Elda, she's completely silent in her movements anyway. She's just chillin' out in the library after the sun's long set looking around for something of interest. She doesn't real much, but she's sick bored. Thing is, she's also sort. And on seeing a Raine passed out on the table... she pokes it to try to force it to find her something.]

[and she just kind of sleeptalks a little] Oh, is it time for breakfast, Genis?

[Oh, that's cute. She can't help but grin a little at that, even if she wonders who Genis is. She whistles on a level that can't be heard by human ears, and a pair of bats come down from the ceiling to perch on her arm. After a quick conversation, one of them flutters onto Raine's head. She's not officially Elda's plaything.

This bets reading anyway]

[Well, that's lovely. Raine doesn't quite notice it; just shifts a little] why didn't any of you complete the assignment...

Treating Filial magic as mana-based techniques does seem possible. If they're willing to cooperate.

You believe the wings were natural?

The sources themselves are different, but... I suppose I'll find out when I speak to them.

...

Yes, I do.
