To her credit, for most of the time since she woke up, Raine hasn't moved very much from her area in the barracks. But it's only been five days. Perhaps a little with some secret help from Buffy, but not enough on her

[Ever since the barracks were set up as a temporary clinic, Gelda's been frequenting the place, occasionally using her healing artes on whoever needs it. She's been outside from time to time, of course. She'd be making sure there weren't still people trapped in wreckage, or checking on Nephry and Anise, but she'd always return to the barracks whenever she had free time on her hands.

Late in the afternoon, she decides to stop by Raine's bed and check up on her. She's still a little worried about her friend, even if she is on her way to recovery. As she approaches the cot to find Raine awake, she smiles gently.]

Raine.

[Laying awake, trying to formulate a plan to escape. Something like that. It's always nice to have a visitor, though, and the approach of her fellow teacher catches her attention.]

... Hello, Gelda.

[fonon_professor]

[Gelda would think Raine is smart enough to rest until she's fully recovered, but she knows her longer than today. She already expects Raine to be restless. It's all fine as long as she doesn't actually leave the barracks.]

How are you feeling today?

... Managing, but better. [Not exactly a real answer, but it's a Raine answer.] How about you?

[With no combat skills and a serious fear of all the shaking the ground has been doing over the past few weeks, between the earthquake and the monsters that followed, Simon has been feeling hopelessly lost most of the time. He's spent some time trying to figure out a way to level the ground or get access to some of the broken buildings, but he's had little luck so far.

So pretty much his only choice has been to hang around in the barracks and hope that someone gives him something useful to do. Life as a kid sucks sometimes.

He's not one to just sit around and sulk when he might be needed, though, so when he sees Raine limping around, Simon hurries over to see what's going on.]

Miss Raine!

[Hearing her name called gets her attention.] ... Hello, Simon. I didn't know you were here. Are you all right?

[dawndigger]

I'm okay, I'm just staying out of trouble. [Or trying.] You don't look so good, though...

[wise_maiden]

Mm. There's a lot of trouble lately, so I'm glad to see you aren't in the middle of it.

I'll be just fine, so don't worry.

[Sokka had only been around the barracks sporadically. He had no practical medical skills and he'd been occupied by hunting and more lately, fighting off monsters. But with things starting to stabilize, even just a little, he's finally taken that three minute walk from his house to the barracks to check on things. There's a few people he knows he has yet to account for. Sure, Raine wasn't on the top of the list he was looking for, but when he sees her, he goes to stop by her bed anyway. Man, she doesn't look so good.]

Hey Professor.

[wise_maiden]

[She looks up at him when he approaches, getting distracted from her thoughts.] Oh... hello, Sokka. Are you well?

[markofthewise]

[Better than you, it would seem.] Yeah, pretty much. [And he makes an attempt at something light hearted.] I'm a little bummed out that we ran out of soda. I had enough stocked for months, but you know. House guests.

[wise_maiden]

That's a shame, though I suppose it couldn't be helped with the circumstances. Perhaps you'll discover a substitute that you like better.

[Whenever Caesar had left, he tried to keep it short, especially because of that certain patient's current condition. Part of it had been because he didn't want others to see - not just Raine, but anyone - though most of it had been because he still just wanted to make sure he was okay. But even if Caesar's leave had been short, he'd still managed to miss someone paying that man a visit, even if Caesar swore up and down to most people that Albert wasn't here at all.

How troublesome.

...dammit. Caesar is quiet for a moment, but when he speaks up, he shrugs.]

[Raine doesn't acknowledge the younger strategist for a moment, her expression still rather blank.]

It hardly requires explanation, don't you think? [He walks over and offers a hand to help her up. He couldn't waste time. If he did, he might not be able to-] One thing at a time. Let's get up.

[She looks at his hand, and then up at him, hesitating.] ... And go where?

[After an eventful couple days of her own, Sheena's looking forward to the relative calm of the clinic. She's later than usual today, and moving slowly and stiffly, but not even Kratos' logic could deter her from coming. Undine was with her as she entered; the other tagalong would have to stay outside.

She will go to check up on Albert first. Raine is her second stop, unless she finds her in Albert's 'room.']

[That's where Sheena will find her, dozing off in a chair near the unconscious man's bed.]

[Oh. ...Oh man. This could be so bad.

But if Raine's relaxed enough (or just drained enough) to sleep, then maybe Sheena can sneak in and out without being noticed. After all, she's a ninja! ...Except she's feeling absolutely awful and it's just too bad that chair is already occupied. Guess that means she's gotta sit on the floor by the nearest wall.]

[She's not completely asleep, but eventually the sound of someone moving around prompts her eyes to open.

... Of course she checks Albert first. But that was too much to hope for.]
