[If anyone happens to be around the edges of the village, or wandering about some of the clearer areas in the forest, they might take notice of a silver-haired maiden riding a white horse, at varying paces. It's early evening in Luceti, as good as time as any for a ride. It's thankfully a fair-weather day, which makes it even more ( Read more... )

[108 posts of Destiny? This calls for Suikoden spam.

Being your totally cool neighbor, Lilly will likely notice Raine before she's gotten too far. Aside from that usual twinge of jealousy she gets when she sees Albert's horse on her way home, she will at least be friendly and wave. Although she really wonders why the school teacher gets to ride Albert's horse. That doesn't make sense at all.]

[Since they haven't been moving quickly, there's more than enough time to give a friendly return wave to Lilly during the slow approach.]

[That wave was for her to come over, right? Of course it was. Because Lilly is suddenly curious.] Hello Raine. Is that your horse?

I suppose you could say that she's in my care for a little while.

[Her name being called catches her attention, so horse and rider slow down to greet the young Karayan boy.]

Hello, Hugo.

[As if she'd really admit that she wasn't fully recovered, if that was the case. But she nods at him - really, it's more of a vague tiredness and distractedness if anything.] I'm all right, Hugo.

[Well, at first you were being hunted. Or rather, your horse was. But, once she sees a human, she slows and slacks into a stalk.

Darn, she was hoping for some bigger game.]

[The horse seems to sense that something is up, but once the immediate sense of being pursued wears off, Raine's going to carefully look around while trying to soothe the agitated mare as they continue on.]

[She maintains pace, keeping a close watch of Raine and the horse, amused that the animal could still sense imminent danger, despite being tamed by humans.]

... Calm yourself, Astrid. You know the way. [Raine doesn't see anything just yet, but the important part is to not risk panic in the mare. Or confrontation when she's not exactly at full power.]

[Caesar is out and about today as well, and he also seems to be fairly distracted! Only, maybe not so much distracted as he is... sulking. Still.

...and the sight of that horse does not make him feel better. But since it's Raine, he isn't going to just turn and walk the other way. He offers her a wave.]

Uh... hey, Miss Raine.

[She's distracted herself, but seeing Caesar pulls her attention toward him. Caesar will get a wave, and the pair will slow down as they approach.] ... Hello Caesar.

How is everything? [Caesar shoves his hands in his pockets and glances at his brother's horse.] She's doing okay, too, right?

Astrid doesn't like the situation, but she's managing well enough. [Raine doesn't quite answer for herself, but that answer probably could go for both of them, in her mind.] ... What about you, Caesar?

[Batman's been looking out, even during the day. Keeping to the wooded shadows, he's noticed Raine riding around. He's not gotten a chance to speak to her yet, but she's one of the most influential individuals in the village. She may know something others don't.

He'll stay out of sight until Raine has finished riding, and will only approach her when she has fully dismounted. He approaches from an angle to her side, somewhat concealed between shadow and plant growth.]

Professor Raine Sage?

[... Well. An odd voice from the shadows is somewhat alarming, but if this was meant to be an attack, he wouldn't exactly be asking for a name. Her tone is slightly guarded, at least.]

... That's correct. Can I help you?

I have a few questions I'd like to ask you.

[He steps a little further out of the shadows. His hands are at his sides, and his cape is actually open, instead of wrapped around him. On his chest is a big, telling symbol of a bat.]

You seem a little different from most New Feathers. [She studies him once he steps more into the light.] That's fine; you're welcome to ask them.
