Why not try a little small-talk? After all, Buffy was intensely curious about others who may have been in the recent battle...and from the looks of it? It might not be too far of a leap to assume this person was.]

I guess it's time to say good-bye to summer, huh? [She calls from the path.]

That probably isn't a bad idea. It's been a few months, and the rooms have been mostly unused. Perhaps a general airing out of the building would suffice.
