Good. (Thanks for reading, especially since BSC isn't exactly your native fandom.)

Beautiful. I love this Jessi, older and extrapolated from the material very well, so obsessed with dance, still, and certain if she gives in even a little she'll have to give up everything she's always loved and wanted.

And then there'd be a time commitment and a heart commitment and pretty soon a life commitment, and there'd be no space in my schedule or passion in my soul or room in my life for dance.

This line in particular is perfect and really made my chest ache for Jessi and how she views the world, but also for the people who love her, because she makes life so difficult with her beliefs.

Thank you for writing this story.

Thank you. I'm really glad that you can see this as a possible future Jessi.

Oh, oh, oh. God, I haven't picked up the books in years, but Jessi was always one of my favorite characters and this, this just -- oh. Yes to all of it. Wonderful, and you've managed to do something that's very difficult to do with YA fic, and litfic as well, and YA litfic especially -- stay true to the voice of the original material while still making it something very different, more grown-up. This is lovely, thank you.
