So, my girlfriend sent me the first seven episodes each of Stargate: SG-1 S9 and Stargate: Atlantis S2. Thoughts, shallow to say the least, lie below the cut. Heavy OTP bias, as you might predict, but I show openness! Rated R for innuendo, silliness, bad language, and homosexual and heterosexual pervy thoughts about everyone who may or may not show

My reaction to that was, "Dude. It's like Stargate: Wife Swap." ;-)

Oh trust me. They are SO not, no matter how much I might wish otherwise. (And I would say more, but you're avoiding spoilers. Just watch "Conversion," that's all I'm sayin'.)

Trinity is named after Trinity New Mexico, where they tested all the nuclear bombs, I believe.
Oh, and I thought I'd recommend a fic set immediately post Trinity. No spoilers, as the person wrote it basically the night after the ep. It shows Elizabeth's respect for McKay, and weaves it in with the canonical scene at the end. http://www.livejournal.com/users/doylefan22/1349.html#cutid1

And yay, fic! Shall read it. :)

Yay! *impressed*
I've also noticed that the McKay/Weir relationship has changed a lot this season, mostly by... absence. I'm not entirely sure what happened there or how to explain it within the context of the series.
Phew! Am not going insane! (Thought OTP bias might've made me unable to perceive what was actually onscreen in front of me; it wouldn't be the first time.)
Without my OTP hat on, I can really notice the freaky battle-bond that Sheppard and Weir have formed over the Siege arc and how it's not really a good thing, necessarily. I suspect they feel threatened by the new authorities at play (Caldwell and Earth) and so seem to be trying to keep a united front even when it's not necessarily the best idea.Hmmmmm. Thought! This all might relate to my disillusionment/upsetness at the ease of them getting back to Earth/transmitting data to Earth. Because I very much like the isolation of S1 in part because of the angst it inspires but also because without Earth's intervention/control/influence, it very ( ... )

I had thought that as well, so much so that when he said something about her mother, thought he was just trying to get on her good side. Took a minute to click what was going on. Heh
With the father, and the daughter, and the sadness, and the sacrifice, and the unhappy ending, and the lying to protect him, and "the serum doesn't work. It never did.
Oh, this was such a good ep. Though really really weird hearing Kaylee's voice out of a Wraith face.
Was impressed with Beckett as well, in that he stepped up and did what he had to to help McKay. With him being a doctor and not military, wasn't sure how capable he'd be in that situation. Needn't have worried.

Yeah, it was right about that point that I thought maybe they were related in some other way. That, "Call her yourself!" thing made me go, "ohhh."
It feels like they played it as a deliberate mislead, which makes no sense whatsoever, since we care approx. 0 about either character at this point and the only thing it could possibly generate is sex!fic written pre-reveal and...okay, now I'm kind of wondering if there is any. Because that would be wrong. hee. *bad person*
I didn't realize that that was Jewell Staite's guest spot. Comes of covering up the opening credits so as not to get spoiled-ed. *is all informed-like now*

Heh, I'm the opposite and tend to get spoiled - strong lack of will power I fear. Heh.
It wasn't a mess up to mention it, was it? Was not my intention at all and if I did, will be more careful in the future.

And no, it's fine to mention it -- I cover up the guest stars' names at the beginning of eps so I won't be spoiled for surprise endings (for instance, in this batch, Jack's semi-surprising appearance at the end of "Origin",) but once I've seen the episode, it's fine to point out guest starrage. :)
(And I knew that she had a guest spot; I just didn't know when it was or who she'd be playing.
