*g* I am firmly and forever convinced that had AMM not moved on from the BSC, something like this would have become canon. One instance in which a prematurely closed canon is of the good. :)

Oh my god. I have always loved Ducky and I love this fic, man. So beautifully done, so in character, and so where I believed firmly the canon was heading.

Squee! I never object to random feedback, especially when it comes complete with Ducky-love. I too have been a fan of Ducky since "I only put pure things in my body, like Mountain Dew, and Pez," and in some ways he was my fictional gay role model when I was growing up. (Every time I reread the series, I become more convinced of the textual nature of his gayness.)

Haha, apprently everyone is doing random searched on google (or LJ seek) for California Diaries stuff, because that's what I'm doing here too.

And, oh man. I love this series and Ducky and... it's going to be a bit difficult to be coherent.

But yeah, I could have seen something like this happening (except for the bit where I think her publishers would've died before they let her write it). And the voice is nice- that mix of light and overly thoughtful that I remember from the series. Good show!

okay this is funny because a girl two comments up from me found your story randomly on google & SO DID I.

i can honestly say that until a friend brought up the California Diaries series yesterday, i hadn't thought about it at all since i was about 12 or 13. i had my suspicions then, as a tiny, naive little thing, that Ducky might just be slightly gay. 6 or 7 years later & I AM CONVINCED. DUCKY = RAGING HOMO.

ps this fic ROCKS. you write him really well.
