(I feel so old-fashioned that I want to absorb information in printed format.)
(And yes, I did listen to the story.)
(The exact quote -- from the very end of the piece, right? -- is, "Cow Clicker 'was not a very fun game anymore.'")
The idea of making more out of something than the creator intended is very much a fandom thing. I think I keep hitting up against my negativity toward those clicking games, though, in my experience of this piece.
Maybe the transcript just isn't up yet? I feel I have read transcripts of articles in the past.
I don't have words for what delights me about this! Part of it is the making more than the creator intended, but part of it is the interaction between creator and fandom, and... the first person drinking game! the $20 reversible cow. It's so ridiculous but it never made me feel cynical about human nature, which is weird, because it's so very cynical in some ways, but... the cowpocalypse! ("At the end of this story, Fred will be dead.")
I played some of those games when I first got a Facebook, before I got a job, and then gradually got bored of them/filled my time with other things. But I do find that collect-them-all impulse fascinating. And delightful. Delighted!

I am glad you are in a good mood. I will quietly keep my negativity to myself (easy since I am gonna fall into bed soon).
