Ooh, is that book on abusive parents any good? For once there is an affordable copy up on my ~usual source~ (Play.com is like my crack, okay, omg).

The first section, on dysfunctional families, roles, and abuse in general, I found very very good. There was nothing earth-shattering for me, but I found it very helpful regardless.
The healing work is mindfulness and inner child work. I haven't actually worked through the exercises, but it looks like it's solidly done and like one could adapt it to one's lifestyle.
