The Farmer's Market. Here a bushel cost me $25, the dill was $1/bunch, the garlic cost me $4. I don't remember how much the vinegar cost, but it wasn't much. Every year, I have to buy new lids, but those are also a trivial cost, and most people remember to give me back the jars and rings.
For my next exercise, sometime after you guys come to visit, I'm going to go find an apple orchard and buy some "seconds" and make myself applesauce. Mmm, applesauce. I actually like that.
