In the whole complicated cavalcade that was this morning, I left the kids' carseats in my car. Which means my parents can't pick them up. And the car is in South Hill, and sil has class in an hour and.....

aaaaaah!

I hate living in rural hell!

I thought you said in your recap of your day that you *did* switch the seats around...

(I know, too much time on my hands. K is at poker night, what can I say..)

Ah, I did. That is, I took them out of my parents' car, and put them into mine. Then I took the kids to school, and I was supposed to leave the seats there, but didn't.

Now that we have established that the daycare has loaners, the kids are back home, but I am still a dumb-butt.

I always assumed any rural hell had to be below the Mason-Dixon line.

Rural hell is anywhere where spitoons are still functional furniture.
Where one wears the nicer pair of suspenders to church.
Where children wear blaze-orange to the bus stop in hunting season.

I suppose I had a more romanticized vision of the NW.

Most people do. And it is true that there is a Starbucks on every corner, and the streets are paved with brie in the cities.

I live a long, long way from the city.

If the city constituted Roseville, I think I would live in Saulk Center. Or maybe Osseo. Only less big than that.

The store is closed this month, because the guy who runs it always takes a month off in winter. That makes it impossible to obtain milk in less than 10 minutes. 20 is more likely. One-way.
