You have a Dreamwidth, so backing up LJ should be easy. Just go to 'organize' in the top menu, and click 'import content' and go from there. It takes time, but you don't have to babysit it, so it's all good.

And, of course, I will be there for stuffing (with a detour to pick out Crowns costume.)
