Hagaren

01. The first character I fell in love with: Edward's automail arm. No, really. I loved that arm before I loved him--the minute the camera panned up it in the opening sequence, I knew I was going to cosplay whoever it belonged to.

02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: That's a tough one, since Arakawa makes so many of her characters come out of left field with their awesomeness. I think I'd have to say...Mei? She was sort of a random little thing at first, but she's become such a badass. She took on the Fatherthing, one-on-one. That takes incredible backbone. And her panda is made of win.

03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Envy. I like him, don't get me wrong, and I love what Steph does with him, but I will never understand the fandom's desire to stick him in leather pants and call him Draco.

04. The character I love that everyone else hates: In the first anime, it was Winry--the adaptation gave her a raw deal and the fandom

14. My deep, dark fandom secret: After playing Edward for five years and spending far too much time trying to physically tune in to him so that I wouldn't forget stage business involving the automail, I can almost instantly switch over to feeling the sockets and numb metal instead of my own limbs if I think about it. I do not have to be told how messed up that is. I would be embarrassed to admit this to Arakawa.

Soul Eater

01. The first character I fell in love with: MAKA AND SOUL. As a unit. I watched the opening and decided then and there, on the basis of their chemistry, that this would be my next series.

02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: EXCALIBUR!

03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Spirit. Good lord, could better intentions produce a worse father? I know that he "tries", but really. To borrow a line from Jane Austen, he would give up anything for his daughter...which he was not very tempted to do. Asshat.
