Books are love! <3 I haven't read ASOIAF, but I enjoy the TV series, it's one of the best shows out there.

I really liked the book! I thought it was very interesting, well-written and deeply complex. I haven't seen the series yet, though I desperately want to. I really need to get working on that!

I loved the reviews. I've tried reading E James before and could never get into her books. Your reviews make me wanna try again:)
I too read Game of Thrones in 2011 and absolutely loved it! After watching the tv series again I bought the Clash of Kings. I started it last night and I love it!! Arya is by far my favorite character so far in the series. Dany is a close second.

I really like Eloisa James and have for many years. Though I will say her older stuff is very ... I think the best way to put it is unique. Her really early works had a lot of different characters and stories crossing over in a single book, so you didn't quite as much as out of the main characters. I wasn't sure what to think of her at first.

I think through the progression of her books she's become a better writer. Her style is still there and very much the same -- very different from other writers in the romance genre -- usually markedly unique in dialog, character types and plot lines -- and I'm sure I could recognize her writing anywhere. But overall, she's gotten better with character development, pacing and weaving plots together.

If you're thinking about giving her another shot, I'd try one of her newer novels -- perhaps one of the two I've recommended above or (my all time favorite) A Duke of Her Own. I read that one without reading the previous ones in the series and LOVED IT ANYWAYS, but once I got around to ( ... )
