Aerial video of damage from Emilia-Romagna earthquake (RAI)

Mostly historic buildings were destroyed or damaged, but you can see in the early part of the video where some factory buildings are shown in shambles - alongside similar buildings that appear intact. Strange! Maybe the (modern) destroyed buildings were built by Camorristi contractors with rubber bands and chewing gum.

That is really scary. :( It's a miracle not more people were hurt! And the economical loss hitting the region must be terrifying for everyone living there. :(((

I think it would have been much more dangerous if it had happened during the day. Since it was 4 in the morning many of the damaged buildings were all empty - plus the streets were empty so no one could be hurt by falling debris. So they were very lucky!

The economic loss is shooting up. Cheese is a huge product and if you saw the slideshow of the parmigiano factory I posted yesterday, the losses for the cheese industry are estimated to be possibly 200 million euros. :( In general it's terrible to have something like this happen in such a terrible economic climate - who has the money to rebuild? We just have to hope for the best.

It is! They're really lucky it wasn't worse, though.

Thank you, my dear. They're all ok, thank goodness! I wrote more about it here on Tuesday.

I hope you are well! I have only just gotten caught up on GOT, so I've been saving your posts and can now gorge on them. I have some mixed feelings about this season...
