Aside from that....well, you saw my post. I am DISTRAUGHT. Absolutely heartbroken into tiny pieces and stomped on distraught! I can't even. I did not stop bawling five minutes into the episode. I could bawl right now if I thought about it! I am SO SCARED for how this season is going to end. Petrified! Oh Sam & Dean. I adore them so much.
You know, every time I watch that fireworks scene, I begin to weep. It breaks my heart into PIECES. The look on Dean's face! And the tone of his voice when he asks Cas "why am I in heaven?" OH GOD. *cries*
I think it was the scene right at the end, when Dean drops the necklace into the bin, that shattered my heart into tiny pieces. How are they ever going to recover? Man. :( ANd poor Castiel!

As an aside, usually when I'm writing fic, I try to find ways to heal them, to fix them, or to give them a moment of peace, but after watching that episode, I have no idea how to do it. Nothing feels believable. Others have managed to write decent 5.16 codas, but I cannot. Everything that comes to mind is just sad and more sad.

I can totally understand your predicament - the show is not giving us any leeway to find redemption for the boys at the moment.
