I snagged two bunches of those gorgeous leeks! :) I think they (and some excellent guanciale, also from the famers' market) are destined for risotto...

Ah, graffiti eggplant, just out of curiosity what is the best way to prepare them? Had some last week, and wasn't sure exactly the best way to make them.

Actually, the eggplants are fairy tale eggplant, according to the seller, which, as I discovered after googling them, are a hybrid dwarf - each eggplant is small enough to fit in your palm. We pan-roasted some last night (sliced in half length-wise with some olive oil and whole smashed garlic cloves) and I can tell you that they are delicious and sweet with nary a trace of bitter! I highly recommend them if you can find these babies.
