I LOVE Karei-naru Ichizoku too. It is amongst my fave Kimura dramas, losing only to Pride :)Kimura's acting was gripping and quite enchanting. I loved the grandness of the drama as a whole. I posted my favourite screen captures ages ago here: http://miss-dian.livejournal.com/75294.html#cutid1

I think that not only is this among my favorite jdramas, but I think I'd rank up there with my favorite series as well, like Bleak House - the quality was so high overall and the production did a stellar job of capturing the period as well as giving us intense family drama. *__* I'm still totally bowled over by how good it was.

Heee, I squee over everything that grabs me, whether it's serious or not. :) I was just mentioning to miss_dian that I would definitely rank this up there with some of my other favorite drama series (not just Asian drama) - I think that it holds its own against BBC's Bleak House, for example, which I adore. They really outdid themselves when they put this drama together.
