wow! (O_O) I've never seen them before!!! My first impression upon seeing the pics (thanks for them! <3) was that they looked like a hybrid of a King prawn, cockroach & grasshopper!! (O_o) xDD

Very cool pics & post~ have fun helping them get back on their way towards the original path of the Great Outdoors! *grins*

We'd never seen them before either! We were wondering what the heck these bugs were (and where they were coming from!), but N figured it out after we spotted the second one. Google is our friend. :)

Those are amazing bugs! An infestation would probably freak me out, but I'd kind of like to see just one. Kudos to you for saving them when you can.

They are pretty neat. We always take a moment before setting them free just to observe them up close. I feel quite safe when there's a shield between me and any insect. ;P They really don't bug us (haha!) because there aren't that many of them (11 or 12 sightings in six weeks isn't too bad - it's not like ant season where those little buggers run around everywhere. Thank goodness we haven't had ants in a while.) and usually we spot them crawling along the carpet. They only start hopping when we try to catch them, and we're usually more clever than they are! Hee!

*laugh* I was a bit freaked out the first time I saw them, but it helps a lot to live with someone who loves living creatures as much as N does - he always explains animals to me and that helps me tolerate these little guys and even like them a little.

If I found one in the shower, though, I'd shriek my head off, too! :)

Wow that's amazing. We don't have any of them here, but we get occasional crickets, but we don't ever kill them. :)

They don't scare me like some other bugs do. Even though it didn't look like the other sorts of crickets we normally see outside, I instinctively knew this was a cricket, and somehow I just knew it was okay. ;)

I... was not expecting that. O______O

They look like hunchbacked shrimp-spider-creatures. >.> Did you scream the first time you saw them? Coz I would have. O.O

Hee! No, I don't think I did scream! I think I was quite startled, but as soon as I realized it was only a cricket, I was okay. Crickets don't scare me. Spiders on the other hand...
