Liar Game, comments and episode 1 screencaps

As I've said elsewhere, I really enjoyed the first two episodes of Liar Game (jdorama) starring Toda Erika and Matsuda Shota. Toda Erika plays Kanzaki Nao, a naive young woman who is drawn into a dangerous game involving a lot of money and unscrupulous people who will stop at nothing to retrieve the money per their game rules. Matsuda Shota is ( Read more... )

Matsuda Shota is very, very pretty, as you can see. :) And his character is very intriguing by episode 2. I'll definitely let you know what I think of subsequent episodes! :)

Liar Game is tied for first place, I'm really loving this drama from just the two episodes that I've watched. The intro is really eye-catching, I haven't seen one this good in a while. Erika and Shota are gorgeous...and I agree, they match up well.

Though I have to admit, Erika's character annoys me at times...I feel the urge to want to knock some sense into her. I admire her sense of morals/honesty....but in the real world, you will get hurt. Shota, on the other hand, is awesome so far. (also admitting he's good on the eyes just as HYD 2)

Yea, the music is great, really hooks you.^^

The intro is really eye-catching,

Yes! I have to admit, one of the reasons I like this is very shallow, and it's not because I think Matsuda Shota is cute, but rather that the drama itself looks so good: I love how stylish it is with all of the production details: the editing, music, sets, etc. They're really drawing me in far more than the plot. The second episode bothered me because there was waaaaaaay too much time wasted on pointless exposition (and considering how short the episodes are, this was bizarre), but once we got past that point, it got better - I loved it when she tried to drag him in to feed him dinner, or something like that.

Toda Erika's character is pretty dim right now, but I'm just waiting for her to get smarter and less trusting; in one way, it's sad to see her lose her innocence, but on the other hand, if I want to see this OTP together successfully, she's going to have to grow up a lot.

I really liked it too.. Japanese dramas usually use uniform color but this one stands out (even though the version that I watched wasn't as pretty as yours) .. I also expect it to develop and give us some surprises in the story.. Thank you for the pictures!

Hmmm, I was thinking about what you said, and you have a point. A few other Japanese dramas that also make an interesting use of color (although in different ways) are Long Love Letter, Sapuri, and My Boss, My Hero. This season's Hanayome to Papa is also very colorful.

I am definitely looking forward to surprises from Liar Game! And you're very welcome, dear. :)
