So many beautifully shot scenes in this drama!

I like the one when her date stands her up, it rains, and Haruto opens an umbrella for her.

I also like the scene where he falls on the ground behind her wheelchair and then it starts to snow. Although, it was kind of weird to have those autumn foliage in the background:)

And I totally cried when Haruto was reading Aya's letter.

Once again, thanks for the beautiful picspam:)

You're very welcome! Yes, you mentioned some great scenes. If I'd had more time and more energy I would have capped more, but it was enough already. *smile* This is a dorama that was so beautiful in many ways, and I'm really glad that I finally watched it.

I really liked this drama. I don't usually like to watch sad dramas because they're really cliche most of the time, but One Litre was really different. I cried alot, especially when I saw how Aya's family supported her even till the end.

Thanks for sharing this great drama with your lovely review and screencaps =)

You're right, this drama was very different, perhaps because of how realistic it was - it never descended into melodrama and so therefore it never stretched one's credulity. Following the natural progression of her illness and see how it affected her and everyone around her was quite dramatic enough, and it was so well done here. I adored her family! It was a great cast, as well as excellent writing and direction.

I'm glad you like this! :) These are always labors of love for me, so I'm awfully glad that others can enjoy them, too.

I read somewhere that Asou-kun was actually a fictional character that did not exist in the "real" Aya's life. The romance part between them was only added in make the drama more appealing. But yea, I agree that it's a great cast with some great acting there too =)

Your picspams are always LOVEE. Although it does kill my internet sometimes

I like your icon! Spirited Away was a nice movie. Even though the ending was pretty abrupt and all...

Oh, she looks so pretty! I apologise very much (and anything I say below is "jut me"), but I am probably unlikely to watch this. I have (as one of my friends say) A BIG problem with many stories about terminal illnesses. I find it difficult to explain, but for me watching something like this is similar to staring at the person in the wheelchair. I remember in "Beautiful Life", Kyoko was saying that she would like to be treated the same as anyone else; I am trying to do it in RL and it is very difficult, but all I can do is try!

There are stories where the illness and it's consequences is considered very delicately and with the respect, but many stories (by far) I find emotionally exploitative. And the title "one litre of tears" is way to melodramatic for me.

I am so sorry - I will have to post about this one day!!! ( I just could not keep quiet)

Oh, my dear, you don't need to apologize at all.

However, a few things. One is that the reason I LOVED this dorama is because it was NOT exploitative in the least. It was not a melodrama. It was a very realistic portrayal, not like watching staring at someone in a wheelchair, but more like being the person in the wheelchair and gaining strength from her experience. I really felt that way as I watched it and I bet if you asked most of the people here who have seen it, they would probably say the same thing.

This was indeed very, very respectful and beautiful and human and one of the most inspiring and uplifting stories I've seen. And the title of the drama is actually the title of Kito Aya's book, and comes from something that she herself wrote.

Of course, your reaction could of course be different from mine, but this was truly a very sensitively created drama that seems to have touched every single person who has seen it, just as Kito Aya's book became a bestseller and touched all the people who read it.
