I absolutely agree - this is really a film for everyone! I loved it as a kid, but the older I get, the more I love it. It's hilarious and clever and pokes fun at the genre and turns things upside down. William Goldman did a fantastic job when he wrote this screenplay. :)

I'm so glad that both you and Sasha enjoyed it. :D

We've worn out 2 CDs of the soundtrack - now we've burned it onto CD and kept the master in the case ::grin:: It's on half my Zen play lists - LOVE the music. Three videos have bit the dust and it's next on our DVD list! (here we tend to go music before visual - but this was a tougher call than usual ::grin:: ) And the book is one you can read aloud in a group too - it's a fun pass around the table book on a stormy evening.

Eldest son used to say about any ole thing he was suspicious of (like rice mixed with chili, which he now loves) "Is this a kissing book?" ::giggle::

Best of all - Peter Falk was in the movie... what a cutie!

Oh, Kia, I should have know that you and your family would fully appreciate the wonderfulness that is TPB! I love your stories of how you all enjoy it, especially Eldest son's phrase of "Is this a kissing book?" You and your kids have great taste.

Peter Falk is terrific in this film, I completely agree. He's always a sweetie. And little Fred Savage was so adorable, too.

I love that movie! I saw it in the theater a couple of times when it first came out, and I'd love to see it full-size again. I'd read the book (a bunch of times) before I saw the movie, and I was in awe at how perfectly the film captured what I would have thought was impossible.

The book is amazing. I think every one should read TPB - it just proves that William Goldman really does have flashes of genius. I sent away for the reunion scene, too, when I was 13! I totally cracked up when I saw what they sent back - it was hilarious!

I'm SO glad to know other fans of this amazing film. It was really great to see it on a big screen again on a beautiful summer night under the stars.

Your icon is ten kinds of awesome. At least. I love it!
