So me and ilanabean42 were spamming the crap out of each other as per usual, right? We were discussing about writing styles and how recognizable writing styles are (and the way I’m totally psychic and realized what fic was hers in a heartbeat) and then she had this Idea.

Shige and Massu bring their shaved ice into the shade of a maple tree. They slouch against each other, too sleepy to speak, and slurp syrup from the ice.

Shige closes his eyes and rubs his temple on Massu’s bare shoulder, lulled to dozing by the heavy glaze of summer heat. His cone starts to list and blue syrup dribbles onto the grass.

After he licks the last of the syrup off his cone, Massu brings his arm up around Shige’s neck and rests his cheek in Shige's hair. His fingers idly trace the tracks of syrup that twist around Shige's wrist. Shige flexes his fingers until Massu slides their palms together and Shige squeezes his hand.

Massu lifts Shige’s arm and closes his mouth over the flavored stains. When all he can taste is Shige's skin, Massu tilts Shige's chin up and starts wearing away the stains on his lips.
