I know I've said it before, but it needs to be repeated: I LOVE the way you write the Doctor! Who knew science could be so freaking hot?

I wish I had something more intelligent to say rather than NUGH... Unfortunately, that's what I've been reduced to.

You are brilliant. I'm going to tell you that repeatedly when I meet you in a little over a week. ;)

*mems*

Aw, thanks! That warms my geeky little heart. :D Heh -- you gush over me too much in person, and I warn you I may go all Nine-grumpy in embarrassment . . . nothing personal, you understand, I just know my own reactions enough to give a forewarning. ;)

That was ridiculously hot. Also, actually quite fascinating. I'd never really thought about it before, but now I am properly curious.

Thanks! I'm quite sure we'll never get any serious speculation of the sort in canon -- at least, not if they're clever. Some things, like the Doctor's name and what kind of critter he actually is, should live in the the imaginations of fans and nowhere else. However, since fic is a product of fans' imaginations, it's all fair game here! :D

You know, I'd never given much thought to the evolutionary ancestors of the Timelords, but now I'm super curious

This was awesome :D

Thanks! It's actually something I've been wondering about since Nine's constant goings-on about "stupid apes." As you can tell, I have a lot of mental free time . . . :D

As always, you write a Doctor who is very alien and very hot. The speculative parts of the story held the interest of this non-scientist. The Doctor does have a lot of feline qualities.

Favorite lines:
He'd never seen a supernova up close, but he had a feeling he would if he ever commented aloud that he thought the Doctor was descended from omnivorous scavengers.

That earned him another glance from the Doctor: warm, controlling, affectionate; a Time Lord riding the triple high of knowledge, power and desire.

And, of course, the last line of the story. Brava!

Yayz! I've succeeded in geeking for a general audience -- always good to know!

Heh, I've written a *lot* of stuff about how catlike the Doctor is, before; this is just the summation piece. Like Jack, whenever I try to put together the pieces, that's where I end up . . .

Thanks!

Brilliant, as always :) I love it that Jack's the Doctor's primary kink, that they no longer need artificial chemicals to respond to each other.

And, sexy though the final scene is, I think I actually liked the beginning most: Jack's sheer pleasure and joy in having the Doctor trust him enough to sleep on top of him. Now that's truly a lovely image, and quite a reversal of what we normally find in stories where the Doctor and companion are in bed and one of them's asleep.

So, was this the story you mentioned to me a few days ago? Or is there another? If so, then the offer's still very much open!

Thanks! I find sleep to be the acid test of trust, far more so than sex, and wanted to show that here. ;)

No, this isn't the aforementioned possible-beta item -- this is what I was working on as brain cleaner while finishing out *that* project. One segment of dialogue is still kicking my ass, but when I get it right, I'll ship it out to you. :)
