Now that the old year and the old challenge are over - not to mention the holidays and the holiday exchanges which kept everyone busy in December! - and we’ve all made it safely into the new year, it's time for a new challenge. We've celebrated Christmas with the Doctor, there was even some snow (even if, as usual, it wasn't real) - but what comes after? This, of course:
The New Year Challenge!
A new year means many things: new beginnings, resolutions, taking stock - and booze, of course. Is the Doctor ringing in the new year with a hangover? (Do Time Lords even get hangovers? And does Jack envy the Doctor if they don't?) And while we're all coming up with our New Year's resolutions: what's the Doctor resolving to do differently - say, after the Year That Never was? Or after his stint on the Titanic? What about any other year? Or what's Jack swearing he'll never, ever do again (besides getting pregnant)? How did he greet the New Year, back when he first realised he couldn't die? How do you look at the future when it stretches endlessly in front of you?
As always, these are just a few ideas to get you started. New years, new beginnings, starting over, literally or figuratively - let us see what you can come up with. Let's get the new year off to a good start!
As a gentle reminder, please don't crosspost stories for this challenge to other comms until the challenge closes. (Which, as usual, will be about one month from now.) And don't forget - leave a comment in THIS post and tell us what you think the next challenge should be!
challenge: new year,
