Interesting take! I like your description of old!Jack, and nice little sting-in-the-tail end. Also, the second-person isn't annoying (it too often is, generally speaking), so well done there.

"Old Jack" stories may be the closest thing to a squick I have in this fandom, for reasons I'm not clear on, but this was both heartbreaking in the emotion and heart-stopping in the hotness. Really amazing.
