Oooh, I like this look at the Doctor and Jack's relationship through Ianto's eyes. Especially the comment about Jack being the Doctor's second.

I'd say the "second" aspect of the Doc/Jack relationship was made really clear in "Utopia" (and the rest of the season finale), and it really allows parallels to be drawn with Jack/Ianto, which I liked, thematically. Thanks!

Thanks -- glad you thought they were accurate depictions. I was a little worried that Ianto was being slightly doofus, but then, he wasn't thinking clearly, and I hoped that'd come through. :)

Awesome fic. You have wonderful command of the flow of this story - it felt intense and fast-paced but managed to give all of these beautiful details, such as Ianto noticing the Doctor's beard shadow and freckles. I also loved that I had no clue if Ianto would actually shoot the Doctor.
