There are a lot of parentheticals that seem addressed to someone. For example:

"“Yes?” the Doctor prompted gently, seeing how shy Alt-Jack was. (Really, when was this? How early in his life did it have to be for Jack to be acting this way?)"

oh sorry. That's a wierd quirk in my writing style - I do that sometimes for thoughts (like the Doctor is thinking that in the back of his head). It's just a thing. Sorry if you don't like it...

Yes! I totally would except that I tried to do that with a fic two months ago and still haven't finished it. I mean, I read a whole bunch of smut and have these great smutty plot ideas and then I get to actually writing then and it just. doesn't. work.
