Finally got to see this exhibit at the Smithsonian, as part of a larger (fascinating) exhibit on forensics.

(The short version:  A professor of osteology donated his skeleton and those of his Irish wolfhounds to the Smithsonian in hopes they'd be put on display.  They finally were.)

We should all be so lucky to have our wishes followed after our

travel, science!

That's really cool! I'm glad the Smithsonian was able to make his bones into such a neat display.

Have you read Stiff by Mary Roach? It's a hilarious, bizarre, and educational book all about the various things that happen to corpses, including donation to science.

Yeah, it's a completely fascinating book. I haven't read her other stuff (Spook, Bonk, Packing for Mars) but I probably should.
