Please don't mind the rather depressing subject line, but it just hit me today that Christmas IS indeed over! My Mariah Carey Christmas CD was barely dusted off, and poof -- just like that, it's time to stick it back in place among my old Toad the Wet Sprocket and 'N Sync CDs. Sigh.

I shall relive it one more time though....

Oh your family DOES sound so much like mine and Dave's like Mike's. Sounds like you had a great time with everyone despite all the traveling around. I have heard great things about the Julie and Julia book too. What does your sister do? It must be really hard for her to be away from you all.

My sister works on the flight line in the Air Force (though don't ask me to explain what that means!), thanks for asking! It IS hard for her to be away, but we got to talk to her a couple times on Christmas Day, so that helped. She comes home in February for two weeks, right after her 21st birthday, and I can't wait to see her!

Wow - it all sounds fabulous! I love the toile dining room, btw. And the smashed sweet potatoes sound incredible. I didn't get around to making Ina's raspberry cheesecake as my MIL decided she was bringing dessert at the last minute, so I decided, why spend my day baking a cheesecake when no one is going to eat it anyway? Hopefully I'll get a chance to make it soon...

My mom would appreciate your comment about her dining room wallpaper. :) I can't even tell you how many times I have planned on making that raspberry cheesecake, yet to this day, still haven't!
