This is downright frightening on more levels than I can begin to count (and I would say the same thing if they were singing about Reagan). Americans respect the office of the Presidency. We do not sing paeans to the individual. And we REALLY do not indoctrinate our children to do so. That's the stuff of which dictatorships and reverence to our " ( Read more... )

This is what you get when you let NEA run our schools and allow teachers to have tenure. We need to insist our legislators put an end to tenure and let the local school boards run our schools instead of the NEA.

I don't trust the school boards, either. And, in this case, regardless of the NEA or the school board, I believe this teacher would have done this, because she's a big-time Obamatron.

Nobody should totally trust government at any level actually. We need to always be vigilant. That said, your vote does carry a lot more weight in a local school board election than it does in a state election or national election. Even if you home school, you have a vote in school board elections so if not for your child, you still need to try influence them for other children.

Wow. No one should trust government at any level? Um, that kind of sentiment is likely behind the hanging of a Census worker in Kentucky.

I believe government is the people, not some boogeyman. That said, this is just too off for words. Is it for some special program, or do they have to do this daily? I ask, because in high school we had to do a special program for George Bush, complete with a weird song, but it was just for his visit. Daily practice, though.

But was the song in honor of Bush the Man, or in honor of the Bush the President? There's HUGE difference, there. After all, "Hail to the Chief" has been played for 150 years, but it's hail to the Chief. NOT a particular individual who is Chief right now. I trust you recognize the difference.

Wow. No one should trust government at any level?
I would really, really like to figure out the thought process that got this out of what I posted.
